Thanksgiving: A Bon Appétit Manual App Reviews

I like the Thanksgiving recipes, but please update it way earlier for us folks up north.

The app has all the best of the best for Thanksgiving. Bon Appetit has thought of everything from appetizers to cocktails and there are even videos right in the app. Super cool one stop cook for the holiday!

I like almost every recipe in this app. Great find...

I was delighted when I saw all the great recipes I could use to update my Thanksgiving Dinner with a gourmet flair this year! The pictures are vivid. The directions are concise and easy to follow. The app is so easy to navigate and I love that I can save (in an easy to access place) the recipes I am going to be using. I love this app. Thanks Bon Appetite!

One of the best apps I have downloaded. It would be awesome if the schedule was related to your exact menu but that would be a bonus. No minuses on this app!!!

Omg perfection!! Only problem is the schedule, it doesnt show you everything you have on your menu but its still gud. It gave me an idea on how to handle things like the turkey and so on and what time/days to handle them so I wont do everything the last min :)

In a word, this app is OUTSTANDING!! The quality of the content...from the tips to the videos, the menu choices to the remain sane cooking schedule, the recipes to the simply DELICIOUS looking photos, this is truly one of the BEST "holiday" apps to grace the App Store!!! Heres hoping this is ONLY the FIRST of many "chapters" to be added to this MANUAL (Christmas, Hanukkah, Passover, Easter, Cinco de Mayo, 4th of July)!! Until then, BRAVO, thanks and be proud Bon Appétit and Condé Nast for doing a job EXCEEDINGLY well done, EXCEEDINGLY well done indeed!!!

... the ability to change the number of servings. Add this feature and the app becomes five stars. Otherwise, its a pretty useful for the holidays.

Unable to use. Crashes repeatedly. Needs new version.

Nice pictures, nice recipes. You spend all this time creating a silly animated menu, yet something as simple as hitting the Back button takes you all the way to the top of the screen, even if you started out halfway down the list. Its laggy and jittery when scrolling, why? I have to log in to Facebook *again* through your app, even though Im logged in to Facebook in Settings? Welcome to 2009, Bon Appetit. This couldve been great. Its not complicated, really.

Finally a beautiful app from my favorite magazine!!! Now if you could please just make a comprehensive app for your whole site I will be in heaven! Ive been waiting for that one for ages, as your site runs rather slow on the iPhone.

As a chef I personally trust bon appetits recipes! Every recipe I use people are always left in awe Im so happy to have an app by them finally! Only bad thing to say is that they didnt include the mile high pumpkin pecan pie from last year one of the best recipes for thanksgiving in my opinion.

Great idea, great recipes. The planning/cooking times part works fine if you use one of the standard menus. However, the "custom" option doesnt seem to work. I saved recipes to favorites, then tried to create a custom menu: the app doesnt recognize the selected recipes and gives only a very generic timetable. I really wanted to like this -- great potential if that bug can be fixed.

I really wanted to use this. The recipes look great. The only problem is it freezes and crashes constantly! I uninstalled and reinstalled a couple of times hoping that would be the end of it, but it happens again and again. Ill be going online to see if I can find the recipes there. SO disappointing. Dont bother downloading this.

needs to ability the edit servings

The idea of this app is great, it just needs some tweaking. It closes randomly and has an issue with scrolling. Every once in a while the menu disappears and you have no other option but to force close the app and reopen it. It just needs some work done, but it has potential to be really helpful. Lastly, it needs to add a recipe for green bean casserole because then youd be able to add it to your calendar.

Ive used most of the Thanksgiving apps out there and this is the best!

Itll just stop responding, no matter what I select. And I thought the + button added the recipe to a saved list but theres no option to go to a saved recipe list. What does the + button do then?

The app was very easy to use, even my grandma was able to navigate it -cooking for thanksgiving is stressful enough this gave me some ideas and was very helpful

The pics are great and the layout of the app is ok. However, the buttons and clicking on pics for some recipes just dont work and neither does hitting back. For some menus you cant scroll down; and for some recipes you just have to scroll a zillion times to see the full procedure because the pic is taking the full display and only 2 lines of words can be shown at once. The app is just about the same level of jerkiness as their website. Just frustrating and really sad that a good content magazine can be so poor and ignorant at its IT.
